A couple of months ago I was contacted about a hosting corporate volunteering day at Ruby’s for 30+staff. I was blown away at the request and thought in one day we could do all the things that would take me a year to do, so my answer was yes! After several conversations, a TEAMS meeting and a job list the plan for the day was created.
On Wednesday 29th May, the Jumbo UK team visited Ruby’s in Congleton for the annual Jumbo Day of Play. This is where all the Jumbo Group employees across the different countries take part in a meaningful group activity where we celebrate as one team and give back to our communities worldwide.
Emma Odell HR Manager for UK & Ireland said ‘The UK Team had a fantastic and fulfilling experience and we were all privileged to meet Ruby on the day too. The team set to work by painting furniture in the sensory garden, arranging new plants in the planters, cleaning the inside of the centre including the two ball pits, and painting areas inside to give it a fresh new look.The experience left a lasting impression on everyone involved, highlighting the importance of giving back and the joy that comes from making a positive difference in the lives of others.Thank you so much to Alison, Ruby and all the staff for allowing us into your centre for a truly memorable and rewarding experience’.
