Sensory room

The sensory room at Ruby’s is a calming environment which has many features including a large bubble tube, ball pool, music, aromatherapy, infinity panel, fibre optics, Apple TV and projector lighting. In 2021 we installed a hoist and ceiling tracking to make sure this room is fully accessible to physically disabled children.

Sensory rooms are a great way to create a controlled, relaxing, calming and stimulating environment for all users. 

We have found that children and young people with Autism have really benefitted from using our sensory room. We support families with a child or young person with Autism who need support with Sensory Integration. By using our sensory room as a tool to help create sensory coping skills, they can start to navigate stimulating environments better. 

Our sensory room provides a variety of controlled sensory simulators perfect for people with Autism and other special needs. They can help enhance concentration, attention, and alertness in autistic people who are easily distracted.

The sensory room is used for many of our support sessions. It is also available for private hire and sessions are bookable.
