Ruby’s was delighted to be invited by Abdul Hathee to a special family and friends event on Friday, 1st May 2025, ahead of the official opening of the brand-new KFC restaurant on Barn Road, Congleton. The warm invitation was extended to celebrate the upcoming launch and connect with the local community — and we were thrilled to be included.

Representing Ruby’s on the day were Kate, our Senior Outreach Worker, and Chloe, our Children, Young People and Families Apprentice. They had a fantastic time meeting the team behind the new restaurant and experiencing the welcoming spirit that KFC Congleton is bringing to the area.

A truly heartwarming moment came during the event when Kate and Chloe were presented with a generous cheque for £1,000 to support the vital work we do at Ruby’s. This incredible donation was made as part of the restaurant’s celebration of their arrival in Congleton and their commitment to giving back to the community. We are deeply grateful for this support, which will help us continue making a positive difference in the lives of children, young people and families.

Congleton Mayor Kay Wesley was also in attendance and shared her enthusiasm for the event:
“We had a fun time opening the new KFC on Barn Road and enjoying a rice and salad chicken box. Delicious! Good luck to the management and all the new staff at the restaurant, and many thanks for donating to one of the Mayor’s Charities, Ruby’s, to celebrate your arrival in Congleton!”

A huge thank you to Abdul Hathee, the entire KFC Congleton team, and everyone involved for making us feel so welcome — and for choosing to support Ruby’s in such a meaningful way. We wish the new restaurant every success and look forward to seeing it thrive as part of our wonderful local community.
