On Thursday 3rd July, Ruby’s held a fantastic fundraising Golf Day at the beautiful Astbury Golf Club raising £3923.50, bringing together supporters for a day of friendly competition, good food, and generous giving – all in support of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and their families.
The event teed off with bacon sandwiches to fuel the teams ahead of 18 holes of golf across the scenic course. Competitors had the chance to win prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, as well as for the longest drive and nearest the pin, adding excitement to an already brilliant day.
A huge thank you goes to Captain Mark Perry and Past Captain Eric Porter for their support in hosting the event. Special thanks also to Newgen Utility Solutions for sponsoring the trophies, and to Congleton Eats for donating the winners’ prizes. Generosity was also shown by all the individuals and companies who kindly sponsored holes, contributing to the success of the day.
The evening concluded with a two-course dinner and the eagerly anticipated prize presentation, with a special shoutout to Andrew Pear for his donation of a Pear Hospitality voucher, adding to the celebration.
Ruby’s is incredibly grateful for the continued community support, which helps us provide vital resources and services to children with SEND and their families. Events like this not only raise essential funds but also strengthen the spirit of compassion and inclusion that defines everything we do.
Special thanks must be given to Adrian Swindells, Trustee for all his hard working in the organising of this event.
