About us: Ruby’s Fund is a charity based in Cheshire East. We have 12 years’ experience of supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), their families and carers. We are incredibly passionate about what we do; in fact, 75% of our staff and volunteers have lived experienced of parenting a child with SEND, so we genuinely listen and understand how we can help. Through our services, we support and encourage families to thrive in their own unique way.

We have plans to open our community café for public play sessions and we’re looking for a friendly and enthusiastic Café Manager to develop and manage a high quality café service.

About the Role: As Café Manager, you’ll be responsible for the general day-to-day running and maintenance of the café, soft play, sensory garden and toilets, as well as managing café staff, students and volunteers. You’ll oversee staff rotas, shifts and session planning and fulfil other management duties such as; stock takes, Health & Safety, marketing, quality improvement and administration tasks.

Salary up to £15 per hour

About You: We’re looking for someone who is reliable, positive and pro-active but who has exceptional organisational skills and a good eye for detail. Your experience, whether that be on a personal or professional level, will mean you are comfortable supporting children, young people and families, especially children with SEND.

As a minimum, we need you to hold a Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate. We can support you with gaining the Level 3 qualification! A First Aid at Work certificate is also essential, as is previous management experience. We’d also like you to be committed to developing your skills and knowledge, willing to undertake any necessary training as required.

An Enhanced DBS check is required.

This is a permanent, full time role for 37.5 hours per week. It includes one weekend per month and the occasional evening event. We’ll also consider job share and term-time hours for the right candidate with a generous annual leave entitlement.
