An event every week that begins at 11:00 am on Tuesday, repeating until August 10, 2021
Our Baby Yoga 5 week course is held at Ruby’s Fund. The classes are very relaxed and baby led so parents may stop the activity any time and listen to or answer their baby’s needs.
All babies are welcome along with their sounds and moods. Each class begins with relaxation and a new set of yoga poses are taught followed by a review of the poses taught in the previous weeks. Once we are confident with the exercises we incorporate well-known nursery rhymes and songs, much to our babies enjoyment and amusement.
The class ends with an open discussion on various topics and there is time to chat with other parents, or discuss any concerns. In the last class each baby receives a graduation certificate with their footprints on.
The course fee includes a Yoga pack with music for you to enjoy the session at home.
Baby Yoga is a fairly new practice based on the age-old tradition. It includes simplified Hatha Yoga, coupled with rhythmical, more energetic movement that can be likened to Ashtanga Yoga: which help to maintain the infant’s interests and so both you and your infant can have fun together.
Infants are always ready to welcome new experiences and are eager to communicate. Their developing bodies are flexible and, just like adults; they can benefit from and enjoy the stimulating touch, movements and deep relaxation that Baby Yoga offers.
Baby Yoga leads on perfectly from Baby Massage, and as with Baby Massage, Baby Yoga promotes a life-long bond between parent and infant, and creates a foundation for a happy, healthy life.
Baby Yoga for babies can be active and dynamic and, paradoxically relaxing and calming, so can offer stimulation for your baby when they wish to play vigorously: and then relaxation as they quieten and calm.
