In February 2020 Ruby’s Fund were delighted to receive a grant for £1550 from RRG Toyota Macclesfield to allow us to deliver support to siblings (aged 5-15 years) of children and young people with additional needs and disabilities
However due to COVID 19 we have had to pause our groups. So the team at Ruby’s Fund have had to be a little bit creative in how we continue to support our families during COVID 19. Our siblings group were certainly not forgotten in our plans.
Jill our Befriending Co-ordinator organised a pizza and craft party via the Zoom app on Friday 24th April! All 16 of the siblings who signed up to the session received a pizza making pack, games goody bag and crafts the day before so they could prepare. Jill even included a Chefs hat! Jill felt a little bit like Santa dropping gifts off and seeing excited children!
The siblings all had the opportunity to say hello to each other via Zoom and showed off their pizzas and craft creations. It was good to see them all happy and chatting with each other.
We updated RRG Toyota Macclesfield with our plans and this is what they had to say: “we are delighted to support Ruby’s Fund with this great initiative, supporting and nurturing children to their full potential. In alignment to the Toyota strategy of “bringing the joy and freedom of movement to all”, this partnership perfectly matches our vision. We will continue to help to promote great local initiatives in the community alongside Ruby’s Fund during these difficult times”.
We would like to also thank Concept Data Solutions for the donation of craft supplies and Mossley School for the help with photocopying!
