Local charity Ruby’s Fund has secured funding from the Cheshire East Council Bright Idea Fund to develop an innovative online app which will help them support families more effectively.
The online system will reduce the need for paper-based case management, drive efficiency and a ‘sign-posting’ tool will help support workers to refer families into the right services at the right time. Ruby’s Fund will also be able to more effectively target their own services based on a better understanding of a family’s needs
In response to the issues which families are experiencing because of the Covid-19 lockdown, such as loneliness and isolation, Ruby’s Fund are bringing forward the development of a self-referral feature of this new app and hope to be able to launch this in the coming days.
Alison Parr, founder of Ruby’s Fund said; “At this time, families are struggling day to day, especially if they have a child with additional needs. We want to do everything we can to help support all families in our community – whether they have children with SEND or not – and the technology within our new app will help us reach and help more people than ever before.”
