When it comes to helping their favourite charity, fundraising is child’s play for staff at Leek United’s Congleton Branch.
The team has presented £300 to Ruby’s Fund, a Congleton-based organisation providing sensory and soft play facilities for youngsters with disabilities and additional needs.
Society staff raised the money, thanks to the generosity of customers, by organising a cake sale, tombola and raffles.
Now, the cash donation is set to help Ruby’s Fund create a new soft play area and carry out maintenance work to an upstairs room at their headquarters.
Geraldine Frost, Business Support Administrator at Ruby’s Fund, said: “We would like to thank Leek United’s Congleton team and their customers for their generosity in raising this money for us. Their support is really appreciated.”
Gemma Lawson, Leek United’s Congleton Branch Manager, and Customer Assistant Elly Haverty presented a cheque for £300 to Geraldine at the charity’s Head Office in Roe Street, Congleton.
“Ruby’s Fund is a cause very close to our hearts, and – judging by their generosity – our customers feel the same,” said Gemma.
