If you are thinking about offering your time, skills and knowledge to a worthwhile cause then Ruby’s Fund is always in need of volunteers.

Positions available are:

  • Saturday Social Additional Needs Group Volunteer – 3 hours per month 1-4pm   On the last Saturday of the month we run a Saturday Social group for families with children with additional needs. The role involves assisting the session facilitator with the setting up of the session, the delivery of activities and tidying away at the end of the session. If you would like more information about volunteering for this session please email alison@rubysfund.co.uk. Positions are subject to references and CRB checks. Minimum age 16 years+.


We hope to provide volunteers at Ruby’s Fund with a positive and rewarding experience. All our volunteers are treated with courtesy and respect. We look to provide roles that are fulfilling and rewarding to both the volunteer and Ruby’s Fund.

The benefits of volunteering can include personal satisfaction, achievement and enjoyment as well as gaining added skills and experience, helping other people to improve their quality of life and occupying your time in a meaningful and constructive way.

Our volunteers bring added skills and experience to our work and allow us more opportunities to develop Ruby’s Fund.

Our volunteers receive induction and training, expenses, regular supervision and feedback and a reference, if appropriate.

The types of roles available include:

  • Receptionist – to meet and greet our centre uses
  • Cafe & kitchen assistants – to assist in the provision light refreshments
  • Domestic duties – from toy cleaning to cleanng of the centre
  • Play session volunteer – to help our play sessions be as fun as possible
  • Administration support – help in our office is always welcome!
  • Fundraising and events helpers – this can be a regular role or an annual one
  • Therapists – who can offer services to our centre users.

Join the Fundraising Committee

This is an active committee that meets monthly and has an established calendar of events in our local area. Ruby’s Fund organises community and special fundraising events throughout the year. We are always looking for new and exciting ways to fundraise so new ideas are always welcome!

Join the Steering Group

This group meets monthly and consists of volunteers who make important decisions about Ruby’s Fund journey to deliver its vision to develop a sustainable community venue, providing leisure,sensory and play activities for children and young people with disabilities and additional needs, whilst offering vital support, advice and resources for their parents and/or carers. Individual Skilled Volunteers

Fundraising Volunteer

A fundraising volunteer can do a wide range of things to help raise money for Ruby’s Fund.  Volunteers can hold a garden party, do a sponsored event, contact local companies asking for donations, or any other ideas you may have.
